No matter how enraged people are, at the end of the day the entire gaming community is talking about the iPod touch 4G. It’s free advertising for Apple on gaming websites that don’t really have much ‘iOS gaming’ presence.
What baffles me the most is how he gets away with saying stuff like this, and how the mainstream public will eventually lap it up.
Personally, I don’t doubt that there are more iPod touches being sold than the DS or PSP. But you’re ultimately comparing apples to oranges here (pun not intended). I don’t know many people who bought, or want to buy, an iPod touch just for video games. Gaming on an iOS device has always been a ‘side dish’ thing, the ‘iPod’ brand is synonymous with ‘music’, it’s not a dedicated handheld console as far as the average Joe on the street is aware. So claiming you’re the #1 portable game player in the world doesn’t hold much water when the majority of people who bought your iPod touch bought it for music first, probably browsing Facebook second, and then think it’s neat how it can play video games third.
Man, it’s entirely possible to sleep in a car, but you don’t go around calling it a motel do you? Facepalm.jpg
